A while back I posted the first of many surveys to get a better feel for the Freelance Ireland LinkedIn users. The questions were broad but the feedback was very helpful.
There were 7 questions in total, to summerise the main one’s;
- What are you? (student, freelancer, company, employee)
- Have you gotten direct work from the group?
- What are you here for? (finding business or looking for freelancers)
- How would you improve the Freelance Ireland LinkedIn group
- Are you subscribed to the Digest Email?
- Do you read the Digest Email?
- What would the best way to use the subgroups on Freelance Ireland be?
The replies I got were helpful in deciding the true direction that Freelance Ireland should go in – most people joined the group to be informed of information for freelancers and second to that, to connect to people.
To quickly run through the replies I received.
- 64% of people on the group are freelancers; 22% are small companies; 10% are employees.
- 95% of people have not gotten work from the group.
- 95% of people in the group are looking for work / supplying services.

- 44% of people are subscribed to the digest email on a weekly basis.
- 75% of people in the group read the digest email.
